We run friendly racing all year round on Sundays and on Wednesday evenings during the summer months . Members are free to leisure sail at any time, including during races. We have a wide range of club boats available for hire which can be used for leisure sailing and in the races. See the club boats section for more information
Sunday racing
We are slowly returning to our normal Sunday race program now COVID restrictions have been lifted.
Most of our races are run on a general handicap basis, however, the first Sunday of the month is run as a pursuit format. Lasers are well represented along with a wide range of other classes. The Sunday afternoon race is intended for double handed boats and many novices chose to start racing in this series initially, however, sailors of any level are welcome to join any race. Sunday afternoon racing has not yet restarted.
An officer of the day and assistant officers from the club membership are organised on a rota basis to run the racing and a safety boat with a qualified helm is normally on the water. Leisure sailing/cruising is allowed during racing but members are asked to be respectful and not unduly interfere with the race.

Wednesday sailing
Run on an informal basis from May to mid-September. Sometimes a 1 hour race starting at 6.30 pm is organised by volunteers from the regular attendees. Leisure sailors are welcome.
Leisure sailing
Members are welcome to sail at any time. There are no restrictions on leisure sailing whilst racing or training is taking place but members are requested to be courteous and give way to boats that are racing and avoid sailing through training groups where possible.
On Sundays the safety boat will usually remain on the water for a time after racing if there are members sailing.
