The Thames Valley Challenge is a 3-boat junior team racing event, sailed in RS Fevas. It is an exciting competitive event, but also great fun, focusing on younger, less experienced sailors. Helming in the DSC team were Will, Ciara and Sam S, while Annabelle, Suzanna and Raffy proved to be competent crew members. There were 9 teams of 6-8 members each. The competition was hosted at Silverwing Sailing Club, with rather shifty winds, which was light at first, but steadily picked up throughout the day.

Our first race was definitely the most taxing, with next to no wind by the start line, and not much more anywhere else. However, as the wind improved, so did our sailing, where we managed to win the rest of our races, bar one.
Our team improved drastically from last year, coming in second place, having won 6 races and lost 2. This excellent result is partly due to the coaching the team received from Jon Jack and Benjamin and Toby Broadbent. Many thanks to them. Dorchester will be hosting the event next year. Good job, everyone!
